  • Blair Bailey , DVM


    Dr. Blair graduated from Washington State University in 1980 with his degree in Veterinary Medicine.  He practiced for 2 years in Southern California and then returned home to Roseburg in 1982 to join his father and uncle in the family practice.  Dr. Blair is active in the Roseburg Kewanis and Chamber of commerce. He is also a member of Roseburg Christian Fellowship and enjoys working with his family ranching.  Dr. Blair enjoys all water sports, tennis, and spending as much time as possible with his family.  Roseburg is a great community and a wonderful place to live.  Vetsuite_Img_154012

  • Craig Downie , DVM


    Dr. Craig joined Bailey Veterinary Clinic in June of 1988, after graduating from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in June of 1983.  Prior to joining the Bailey family, he practiced in a mixed animal practice for 3 years, followed by a residency at UC Davis.  Dr Craig has a great interest in orthopedic surgery, especially cruciate repair, and internal medicine. 

    Dr Craig's wife, Belinda, is an oncology nurse employed with Dr. Michael O'Neil.  His son Barry joined the practice in 2008 after graduating from Oregon Stage University School of Veterinary Medicine.  Dr. Craig calls his son "The new and improved model".  Morgan, his daughter, is employed as a nurse in the emergency room at Mercy Medical Center.  Dr. Craig and his wife enjoy tennis, skiing (both water and snow), their yard and dogs, but especially their grandsons Cade and Tristan.

  • Mike S. Martin , DVM


    Dr. Mike grew up in Bakersfield, California working in the agriculture/livestock industry.  He attended UC Santa Cruz, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and received his degree in Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis.  His grown children live in Stockton, California and Glenwood Springs, Colorado with his three grandchildren.  His most developed skill is that of providing unmerited grace in his role as grandpa "Bopo".  Mike and his wife, Judy, thank you for choosing Bailey's for your veterinary needs

  • Martin Burnett , DVM


    Dr. Martin Burnett began his education at California State Polytechnic University at Pomona in 1973. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science in 1977 and began teaching Vocational Agriculture that summer in Yucaipa, California. Continuing his education, he completed his Master's degree in 1980 and moved his family to Camas Valley, Oregon to continue his teaching career and to raise his three sons in a rural atmosphere. In 1980 he resigned from the teaching position to enter Veterinary School in the Oregon State/Washington State University programs. Following graduation in 1994, Dr. Burnett joined the Bailey Veterinary Clinic to pursue the profession of his childhood dreams. Dr. Burnett enjoys the rural lifestyle Oregon has offered with room for his horses, cattle, dogs, and cats on the property he and his wife, Julie, reside at in Camas Valley.   • Bethany Powers , DVM


    Dr. Bethany graduated with an undergraduate degree in Animal Science of North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, N.C.  She received her DVM from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in Tuskegee, Alabama, and moved to Roseburg 2004.  She has been a part of Baileys ever since.  Bethany and her husband Randall, enjoy the local theater, arts, and music venues whenever possible.  They also enjoy tennis, golf and hiking with their dog "Millie"  Vetsuite_Img_102630

  • Jill Giri , DVM


    Dr. Jill started with us in June of 2007.  She graduated from UC Davis with an emphasis in equine medicine.  She and her husband Eric moved to Oregon along with their Basset Hounds, two cats (Grey Goose and Stoli) and two horses.  Dr. Jill is an avid equestrian and is active in the Umpqua Valley CT and Dressage Club.  She shows dressage and will show jumpers with her filly Cha Cha when she is old enough.  Eric and Jill love living here and enjoy hiking in the forest with their dogs when she isn’t riding.     Dr. Barry graduated from Oregon State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.  Barry and his wife Sara have a young son named Cade.  Sara is an elementary school teacher.  The family enjoys the rural area, especially all of the outdoor activities.  Dr. Barry loves the variety that a mixed animal practice provides every day. Management Staff

  • Karie Wentz


    Karie grew up in Glide on her parents ranch.  After graduation from Oregon State University, she worked as a retail manager for over nine years.  Karie, her husband Preston and their son moved back to Roseburg in 2003.  May of 2003 is when she started working for Bailey Veterinary Clinic as a Practice Manager.  Her responsibilities as the Practice Manager is to oversee the daily operation of the clinic.  On her off time she enjoy the outdoors with her family and friends. 
Technician Staff


  • The technicians at Bailey Veterinary Clinic are here to help you and you pet during your visit to the clinic. some of your duties include assisting the doctor by inviting you and your pet into the exam room, taking general information and getting a current weight and temperature. 

    We will be the ones assisting the doctors in the hospital by administering the medications, taking any radiographs, preforming any laboratory work needed and any other care requested by your veterinarian as well as giving general comfort during your pets stay with us.

    The surgery doctor will have a technician assisting them during surgery by administering and monitoring anesthesia during procedures and keeping you informed of you pets surgical recovery. 

    Our goal is to provide you and your pet with a professional and comfortable visit while you are with us.
     
Reception Staff


  • We have a very knowledgeable staff of receptionists who know how to do more than just answer phones and write down your pets information.  They are capable of answering question about basic pet health, scheduling appointments, products, foods and medications.  They also know about any specials or promotions the clinic may be offering.  The have over 94 years of experience and their ultimate goal is to provide great customer service for you.

    Patty has returned to Bailey Veterinary Clinic after a 8 year hiatus to help make sure that your visits are as pleasant as possible and your pet's care is of the best quality. 
Kennel Crew


  • Our kennel crew are the ones responsible for keeping the clinic clean and smelling good.  They are our "cleaning engineers" in every area including cages, kennels, floors, walls, counters, equipment, laundry and outside maintenance.  They care for your pets by feeding and walking them and when necessary assist in holding them.  Our kennel crew wears many hats and play a vital role behind the scenes.
