General Services

Immunization and Wellness Care

We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Preventative care has rewards for both pets and owners. Our recommendations for preventative care include:

  • Annual comprehensive physical exam

  • Internal parasite testing

  • Heartworm and flea & tick control

  • Annual vaccinations

  • Spay and neuter

  • Specialized blood testing

Dental Care

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth and health. Routine dental examinations can detect and/or prevent periodontal (gum) disease. If dental disease is detected early, you can prevent further damage and save as many teeth as possible.

Warning signs of dental disease:

  • Bad breath

  • Tartar-Yellow-brown crust on the teeth

  • Bleeding gums

  • Loss of appetite

  • Teeth that are missing or loose

  • Difficulty eating and chewing food

The tartar that build up in your pet's mouth and any other affected areas of the gums can have an adverse effect for your pet's heart, kidneys, intestinal tract and joints.

We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup.

A comprehensive exam is required prior to a dental cleaning to make sure that your pet is due for a dental cleaning and to make sure that your pet is healthy.

Call and speak with one of our receptionists about getting your pet's teeth cleaned.

Flea & Tick Prevention

Adult fleas jump on your pet when they sense a host is near. A female flea can lay up to fifty eggs a day - 4,000 eggs in her lifetime. Eggs fall off your pet and develop into worm-like larvae, which hide in carpeting, furniture, bedding, and other dark places. The larvae mature as they feed on fecal matter dropped by adult fleas and the cycle continues.

Fleas are the number one cause of skin conditions in cats and dogs. Fleas cause irritation, extreme discomfort and can sometimes lead to anemia, flea allergy dermatitis, Bartenellosis, and other diseases. When fleas are ingested, your pet can contract tapeworm.

Symptoms of flea infections include itching, scratching, loss of hair and unusual amount of chewing and licking.

Ticks will wait patiently on the end of a leaf or long blade of grass for an unsuspecting host to pass by. Ticks can pass Lyme disease and be detrimental to the health of your pet.

We offer the best quality flea and tick treatments including the newest in the fight against fleas. We can also show you the best ways to combat an existing flea problem and how to avoid reinfestation.

Come on in or give us a call and we can find the right flea and tick product for your pet.

Microchipping

With 1 in 3 pets going missing during their lifetime, microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families.Microchipping is more reliable than a collar or tag because there is no chance it will fall off or be removed.

We offer "HomeAgain" microchipping with the "HomeAgain national pet recovery database" which includes lost pet alerts, personalized lost pet posters, and travel assistance for found pets.

How it works:

  • The microchip is inserted with a simple injection

  • Your pets ID code along with your contact information will be enrolled with "HomeAgain"

  • If your pet is taken to an animal shelter or clinic, the staff will scan the microchip to read its unique ID code

  • The staff will then call the appropriate registry with your pet's indentified ID code

  • As soon as your contact information is retrieved, you will be contacted by "HomeAgain" microchiping company and arrangements will be made to reunite you with your pet!
